The Bomber will have to deal with Ukrainian villain Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night in Manchester first
Tony Bellew has underlined his ambition to audition to be the next James Bond as he plans his next career move after boxing.
The Bomber will go up against his most fearsome opponent yet, the villainous Oleksandr Usyk, with all of the world cruiserwight titles on the line on Saturday night in Manchester.
Although he seemed certain to stop after back-to-back heavyweight wins over David Haye, the 35-year-old has exclusively told talkSPORT he will ‘break Usyk’s spirit’ and call it a day.
And it seems as though the Scouser already has a new career lined up – assuming the role of British secret service agent 007.
When asked by Oddschecker if he could play Bond, he said: “Oh mate, that would be the ultimate dream.”
“If they said to me ‘would you audition for Bond?’ that would be something I would love to give it a try.
“James Bond is the greatest assassin there has ever been. I do believe Idris Elba should get it.
“But if they don’t fancy Idris, I’m only a couple of shades lighter then I’ll have a go mate. My mum is only a half.
“I’d love to see Idris get it, he’s an amazing actor and I’m a huge Idris Elba fan.
“When he sees me, he must think I’m a bit of a weirdo, a bit of a fan boy.”
