British Open champion Georgia Hall among contenders for 2018 Sunday Times Young Sportswoman of the Year prize

Izzy Atkin, Seonaid McIntosh and Grace Reid are also in contention for the prestigious accolade

Georgia Hall has been nominated for the Sunday Times Young Sportswoman of The Year prize.

The 22-year-old British Open golf champion is also in contention to be crowned Sportswoman of the Year after her stunning maiden major win at Royal Lytham and St Annes earlier this year.

Georgia Hall won her first major title with a two-shot victory at the Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes

Hall is nominated for the young prize alongside Izzy Atkin, Seonaid McIntosh and Grace Reid.

The winners of the prestigious Sunday Times awards will be revealed on Thursday, November 1.

Now in their 31st year, the awards celebrate the outstanding contribution to sport made by elite athletes, coaches, administrators, community volunteers and inspirational women.
