Cape Town – South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen on Thursday pulled out of the 100th PGA Championship at the Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis.
Oosthuizen withdrew less than an hour before his scheduled tee time, giving American Kelly Kraft a spot in the field at Bellerive.
The official announcement was made about 10 minutes before Oosthuizen’s scheduled tee time, though Kraft had been warming up in case he got a chance. He joined a group along with Thomas Pieters and Bill Haas.
Oosthuizen’s withdrawal means there are only five South Africans remaining in the field: Charl Schwartzel, Branden Grace, Brandon Stone, Dylan Frittelli and Justin Harding.
FIELD UPDATE: Louis Oosthuizen has withdrawn from the 100th PGA Championship. Kelly Kraft is now in the field.
