At 31 years of age, time may not be on the former France international’s side. Especially when you consider he will not be able to play until 2019 after the conclusion of his 18-month drugs ban.
With youngster Declan Rice bossing Premier League games yet still on his academy wages £3,000-a-week, it really begs the question as to where the priorities of David Gold and David Sullivan lie.
