The former Blackpool striker (no shrinking violet himself) suggested Carroll injured himself in pre-season after sneaking out past his curfew
Nile Ranger called West Ham United striker Andy Carroll a ‘lunatic’ and suggested the England international injured himself after breaking curfew on pre-season.
The former Blackpool striker is without a club himself after several criminal and personal misdemeanours.
However, he started his career at Newcastle United and made his way into the first team alongside the giant Geordie.
After a scintillating run of form in 2010, Carroll earned a lucrative move to Liverpool but failed to make the grade and was eventually shipped off to the Hammers.
Injuries have continued to hamper the target man in east London, although he is reportedly nearing a return to first team action after picking up a knock in pre-season.
But Ranger suggested the 29-year-old may have injured himself after breaking curfew.

“Andy’s a lunatic but he gets the job done,” said Ranger on the True Geordie podcast. “I think he’s worse than me [for partying] but he’s a good bloke, though. He’s got banter and he’s a good guy in general.
“He was going through a lot, like getting his car blown up in Newcastle, but he still bombed on and got his move to Liverpool after Kevin Nolan took him under his wing and said ‘I’m going to look after you’.
“I don’t know what he’s doing now – probably just living life. I heard some rumours, that he snuck out and hurt his leg; knowing Andy the way he is, that definitely sounds like him!”
