WrestleMania 36 rumours: Big update on WWE’s plans for Triple H, Ronda Rousey, Goldberg and John Cena

WrestleMania 36 is just seven weeks or so away and the card is finally beginning to take shape.

We already know that 2020 Royal Rumble winner Drew McIntyre will challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE title and Women’s Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair will challenge NXT Women’s champion Rhea Ripley.

Elsewhere, it looks like we’re heading towards Becky Lynch versus Shayna Baszler, presumably with Lynch’s RAW Women’s title on the line. Roman Reigns is the favourite to take on ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt for his Universal title, but after that, it gets harder to predict.

Goldberg is challenging Bray Wyatt for the Universal title at Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia next week, John Cena returns to SmackDown Live the day after, Triple H always has a match at WrestleMania and Ronda Rousey has long been rumoured to return.

They’ll all be competing, right? Quite the opposite. Cena appears to be the only name with any plans.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that Goldberg doesn’t have a planned match for WrestleMania and, as a result, it would seem logical that Wyatt will beat him next week.

Triple H is another man with no WrestleMania plans. Now 50-years-old, The Game has only missed two WrestleManias in the past two decades and those were both due to injury. It seems he’s sitting out on his own accord.

Rousey was the favourite to win this year’s Royal Rumble for a long time, but her return failed to come to fruition. When she does return, working with Lynch will be the priority and that’s not this year, Meltzer confirms.

Cena, on the other hand, looks set to work with Elias if Meltzer is to be believed.

Cena is a legend in WWE and his return will be widely welcomed

Elias turned face a few months back and has been kind of meandering on Friday nights, but there is no doubt about the talent WWE see in him.

With the right push and opponent, he could still be a big time player for the company. It seems like Cena will come back and work with him in the hope that it’s the right rub.
