Arsenal and Chelsea set to lose out in battle to land Under-17 World Cup sensation

Arsenal and Chelsea are set to miss out to Udinese in the race for teen sensation Kelechi Nwakali.

The 17-year-old captained Nigeria to the Under-17 World Cup in Chile earlier this year and was also voted player of the tournament.

The midfielder’s performances have ignited interest all over Europe and a scramble is now on to secure the free agent’s signature.

Arsenal and Chelsea have both spoken to the player’s agent, while Manchester City are also keen to bring Nwakali to the Etihad – where his brother already plays.

However, according to Tutto Mercato, Udinese are on the verge of agreeing a three-year deal with the Nigerian.

Nwakali, who has been dubbed the new Yaya Toure, has been tipped for a big future and recently signed to the same agency which looks after Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.
