Arsenal transfer round-up: Former Tottenham star Christian Eriksen ‘offered’ for cut-price fee, Sander Berge targeted and battle for ex-academy ace Yunus Musah

Arsenal have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Christian Eriksen in a cut-price deal, just ten months after Internazionale bought him from Tottenham.

The Dane only joined the Serie A giants in January 2020, forcing his way out of Spurs after seven years in north London, but Inter want to cut him loose.

Eriksen was known for his goals and assists in England, but he’s failed to really get going since his move to Italy, with just four goals and three assists in 33 games for his new club.

He has quickly fallen out of favour under manager Antonio Conte, and speculation has begun to swirl that Mikel Arteta could take a plunge on the 28-year-old in what would be one of the most controversial deals of the year.

Such reports are now gaining momentum, with ESPN claiming Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Eriksen for less than the £16.9million Inter paid for him earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Emirates chiefs are also considering a swoop for Sheffield United midfielder Sander Berge next summer, reports Norwegian newspaper VG.

Arteta wants to add another midfielder to his ranks and could make a bid for the Norway international if the rock bottom Blades are relegated.

The 22-year-old only moved to Bramall Lane for £22m in January and Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United are also thought to be interested.

Finally, Arsenal are reportedly keeping a close eye on former academy starlet Yunus Musah.

Musah is a product of the Gunners’ youth set-up but opted to take his talents to Spain in 2019, where he has enjoyed a superb rise to prominence.

The United States international became the youngest non-Spanish goalscorer in the Valencia’s history earlier this month when he fired home against Getafe at the age of just 17 years and 338 days.

According to The Mirror, his progress in Spain has not gone unnoticed and Everton, Leeds and Wolves – as well as the Gunners – are considering bids.
