Valtteri Bottas will lose five places on the grid for the United States Grand prix following a gearbox change after qualifying.
The Williams driver had qualified in 12th position, and would have started from 10th following the penalties for Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen.
But the Finn suffered a suspension problem during qualifying, and the fix will require a gearbox change.
“I had a rear suspension failure at the end of Q2,” said Bottas. “It’s just something that went broke suddenly, I think we can fix it.”
Bottas is now set to start the race from 15th position.
