Burnley 1-1 Brighton: Seagulls unbeaten after 17 games following tough trip to promotion rivals

Brighton remain the only unbeaten team this season in the top four divisions of English football after a 1-1 draw at Burnley, but the visitors failed to return to the top of the Championship.

Bobby Zamora gave the Seagulls the lead within a minute, but Burnley equalised with a penalty through Andre Gray less than three minutes later, and the final result left Hull top of the division ahead of Brighton on goal difference.

It also meant the Clarets missed out on the chance to leapfrog Brighton into second place, and the home team had a number of late chances to win a close fought game.

Former England striker Zamora converted after Tomer Hemed’s strike fell into his path off the underside of the crossbar, while Gray got his eighth goal in six Turf Moor appearances from the spot after Lewis Dunk was penalised for holding Michael Keane’s shirt from a corner.
