Catalans Dragons 32-28 Leeds Rhinos: Reigning champions lose third straight Super League match

Brian McDermott’s side, who were treble winners last year, sit bottom of the pile

Saturday, February 27, 2016

Dave Taylor scored two tries as Catalans Dragons secured their first win of the season and amplified the problems facing last year’s treble winners Leeds.

Richie Myler, Krisnan Inu and Tony Gigot also breached the Leeds defence in a 32-28 home win in Perpignan.

Leeds also plundered five tries but Jordan Lilley failed to convert the late scores from Ash Handley and Kallum Watkins, as the reigning Super League champions slumped to a third successive defeat at the start of this season’s competition.

They sit bottom of the pile, with much improvement required to be competitive in the upper echelons this term.
