Dropping Eden Hazard against Aston Villa and slamming his work-rate was a hugely risky move by Jose Mourinho, and one that supporters could lament come the summer if he decides that he wants out of west London. A reality check, however, could be considered necessary. Hazard was neither at his best nor his work in Ukraine, but in what has been missing from his performances this season, he seemed desperate to get on the ball, and to make something happen. He confirmed, nonetheless, that his influence has dwindled, and it could be well into the New Year before the Hazard we all know and love returns to the field.
