Crystal Palace transfer report: Eagles ready to swoop for Sporting Lisbon forward Islam Slimani

Islam Slimani celebrates scoring for Sporting Lisbon

Crystal Palace are set to rekindle their interest in Sporting Lisbon forward Islam Slimani.

Palace reportedly had a £11.5m bid rebuffed by the Portuguese outfit in January but are still monitoring the player’s progress.

According to Record, Alan Pardew is keen for the Eagles to return with a higher bid in the summer as he aims to bolster his attacking options.

Slimani, 27, has enjoyed a stellar season so far having bagged 19 goals in 30 appearances for Sporting, attracting attention from clubs in the Premier League.

But it is Palace who are leading the chase for Slimani and the south London club are readying another assault for the striker.

Sporting reportedly demanded £23m from Palace in January but are expected to lower their asking price this summer.
