David Haye has confirmed he will come out of retirement to fight Mark de Mori at London’s O2 Arena on January 16.
The former world heavyweight and world cruiserweight champion has been out of the ring since stopping fellow Briton Dereck Chisora in 2012.
He was twice forced to scrap bouts with Tyson Fury due to a shoulder injury and announced in 2013 he was hanging up his gloves on medical advice.
But Haye has recently returned to training with Shane McGuigan, son of the Irish boxing legend Barry, and has decided to make a comeback at the age of 35.
His opponent, De Mori, is a WBA top-10 ranked heavyweight who has won 29 of his 32 fights.
Nicknamed The Dominator, the Australian’s most recent bout was a knockout victory against Marcel Zeller in October.
