MotoGP rider Alex de Angelis has been released from hospital, just over two weeks after his dramatic crash during practice for the Japanese Grand Prix.
De Angelis suffered a head injury, lung contusion and several fractures after an accident during practice for the Motegi event on October 11.
The Sammarinese rider stayed in hospital in Japan before being flown to his native San Marino last week.
On Wednesday, the 31-year-old was released from hospital to continue his rehabilitation at home.
“Today Alex de Angelis was discharged from the orthopedic department,” said a statement from the hospital where he was staying. “The general condition of the patient is good and significantly better than at the time of admission.
“In the coming days, Alex will be re-evaluated by the specialists in charge of working with him until he is fully recovered.”
