Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza have preyed on most everyone who’s stepped on court against them in 2015. Earlier this week, they clinched up the season-ending No. 1 ranking in WTA Tour doubles. And for all their prowess and court sense in the heat of battle, they also have remarkable chemistry and knowledge of each other away from what they do best.
In a new clip from the WTA, the two gigglers get to the business of discussing shoes (Mirza owns 300 pairs; “It’s a sickness,” she says) and their competitive natures (“We’re both pretty bad losers”).
There’s one level on which they don’t compete: Mirza, from India, boasts more than 3 million Twitter followers (@MirzaSania), whereas the erstwhile “Swiss Miss,” Hingis sports close to 140,000 (@mhingis).
The tandem contested Sunday’s WTA Finals championship against Garbine Muguruza and Carla Suarez Navarro. Muguruza, also a singles star, duly noted that their impending encounter will be “tough” and, in all honesty, the biggest doubles match of the Spanish pair’s career.

She was right: Hingis and Mirza rolled to a 6-0, 6-3 victory.
