‘His luck stinks!’ – Manchester United fans gutted after yet another Will Keane injury
Monday, February 22, 2016
Will Keane’s terrible luck at Manchester United continued during Monday’s FA Cup fifth round victory over Shrewsbury.
Chris Smalling, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard were all on the scoresheet as United avoided their third consecutive defeat ahead of Thursday’s Europa League second leg against FC Midtjylland, live on talkSPORT.
Keane has impressed for the under-21s since returning from his loan spell at Preston North End after scoring five in the 7-0 rout of Norwich.
The 23-year-old has had a rotten time with injuries, suffering a knee ligament injury just as he was breaking into the first-team squad in 2012.
After the injury to Wayne Rooney, Keane was hoping to take advantage but, three minutes after coming on against Shrewsbury, he suffered a groin injury which appeared to happen as his shot hit the post.
And Red Devils fans have shown their disappointment and sympathy at yet another injury for someone who so much was expected of.
