IBF super middleweight champion James DeGale (22-1, 14 KOs) will defend his title against Mexico’s Rogelio Medina (36-6, 30 KOs) on April 30 at the DC Armory in Washington.
The Londoner had been expected to face mandatory challenger Jose Uzcategui, but the undefeated Venezuelan is now out of action with an illness and Medina become the new mandatory challenger.
Degale will be making his second world title defence against Medina, who has knocked out all of his last four opponents.
On the same card, Badou Jack (20-1-1, 12 KOs) defends his WBC title against former DeGale foe Lucian Bute (32-3, 25 KOs), and the winners of both fights are set to face each other in a unification clash later in the year.
DeGale won the belt when he defeated Andre Dirrell on points last May, and then defended it when he outpointed Bute in November.
