JR Motorsports confirms Allgaier, BRANDT for 2016

As first reported, Justin Allgaier will take sponsor BRANDT and make the move back to the NASCAR Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports next season.

The team confirmed the move on Wednesday, also revealing a rendering of the new car. He will pilot the No. 7 JRM Chevrolet that has been driven by Regan Smith since 2013. Smith has won six races with JR Motorsports and is currently third in the championship standings.

“JR Motorsports is privileged to bring BRANDT and Justin back into the Xfinity Series,” said Kelley Earnhardt Miller, general manager of JRM. “Much like JRM, BRANDT is also a family business that prides itself on being an industry leader.  We’re excited to give both BRANDT and Justin a renewed avenue for success and look forward to what lies ahead in 2016 and beyond.”

Allgaier returns to the Xfinity Series

Allgaier, the 2008 ARCA champion will be leaving a Sprint Cup ride at HScott Motorsports, which will be filled by Clint Bowyer and 5-Hour Energy in 2016. The 29-year-old scored his first top ten at the Cup level with an eighth-place finish at Bristol earlier this season.

“I’m honored and excited to drive for JR Motorsports,” Allgaier said.  “Having the ability to come to the track every week with a car capable of winning races and ultimately run for the Xfinity Series championship is the opportunity of a lifetime.

“And to have the support of BRANDT as we move to JR Motorsports means a lot to me, personally and professionally.  It’s now time to get those BRANDT colors back up front and try to bring home a championship that they so very much deserve.”

BRANDT follows Allgaier to JRM

BRANDT, a leading agriculture retailer and manufacturer of agricultural specialty products has been with Allgaier since 2011 in the Xfinity Series. He has a total of 174 starts in NASCAR’s secondary division with three victories to his credit. The company will be featured as the primary sponsor on the No. 7 car in 18 of 33 events and serve as an associate sponsor for the remaining 15.

“We set high goals and we aim to lead in everything we do,” said BRANDT President and CEO Rick Brandt.  “We see a partnership with JRM as the next logical step for our brand. The resources JRM provides, both on and off the track, will continue to build our business, engage growers and tell the positive story of agriculture.”

Allgaier will join Elliott Sadler as JR Motorsports’ two drivers who will fight for a championship in 2016. The third team car will be shared by various drivers, including but not limited to Chase Elliott, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne and Dale Earnhardt Jr. himself.
