Leicester City FC: 'Jamie Vardy's having a party!' – Fans congratulate striker for equalling van Nistelrooy's record

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has made history by equalling Ruud van Nistelrooy’s 12-year record of scoring in 10 consecutive games in England’s top flight.

The Three Lions international scored the Foxes’ first goal against Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon to etch his name alongside a Manchester United great in the Premier League’s history books.

And, even more impressive, Vardy has reached the record in one season – van Nistelrooy took two.

As can be imagined, supporters have been quick to react the news, with the 28-year-old receiving widespread praise.
