Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has returned to first-team training with AC Milan.
The Italian is currently on a year-long loan at the San Siro after struggling to make a mark at Anfield last season.
The 25-year-old started the present campaign in good form for Milan but he has been out of action since September with a hernia problem.
Balotelli had surgery in November and stepped up his rehabilitation last week with some individual running exercises.
However, the striker has now returned to first-team training and is working towards a comeback in the coming weeks.
Serie A breaks for the festive period on December 20 and it is hoped Balotelli will be fit for its return on January 6.
