Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has cooled speculation that he is lining up a January offer for Tottenham and West Ham target Alexandre Pato.
The Brazilian striker is currently playing for Sao Paulo, where he has scored eight in 14 league games so far this season, but wants to return to Europe.
The 26-year-old spent six successful years at AC Milan before returning to Brazil back in 2013 but he has produced mixed form back in his homeland for Corinthians and now Sao Paulo.
Both West Ham and Tottenham have been strongly linked with New Year swoops for the forward but Barcelona are also reportedly keeping close tabs on his situation.
Barca are desperate to sign a striker when their transfer ban is lifted and Pato is on the radar – however Enrique was non-committal when asked about his interest.
He said: “He was a great player but I’m not in the Brazilian championship so I can not tell you about his current form.”
