Manuel Pellegrini to open talks with Valencia to replace Gary Neville as manager

Is Manuel Pellegrini set for a return to Spain?

Manuel Pellegrini is expected to hold talks with Valencia when he leaves Manchester City at the end of the season, according to reports in Spain.

The Chilean will be replaced by Pep Guardiola at the Etihad in the summer and is already on the lookout for his next job.

Current Valencia boss Gary Neville is expected to leave Valencia when his contract ends in June and the Spanish club are considering an approach for Pellegrini.

The 62-year-old is understood to be keen on a return to La Liga, having spent nine years in the country managing Villarreal, Real Madrid and Malaga.

According to Superdeporte, despite calls for Neville’s sacking, the former Manchester United defender will remain in charge until the end of the season.

But Valencia are already putting plans in place for next season and have made Pellegrini their top target to replace him.
