As expected, James Moffat has been confirmed as a Volvo driver for the 2016.
The team issued a brief statement last night confirming the deal, having announced that David Wall won’t be kept on a as a full-time driver beyond the end of the season during the Gold Coast weekend.
That news came a day after Nissan Motorsport announced that Moffat would be on the move for 2016.
“At 31 years old I believe that James is in the prime of his career, and I am confident that he will be a very worthwhile contributor to my team,” said Volvo team boss Garry Rogers.
“I am thrilled to join Wilson Security Racing GRM and Volvo Polestar Racing for the 2016 V8 Supercars [season],” added Moffat.
“The team has shown great progress over the past two seasons and I look forward to driving the #34 Volvo. I hope that I can now see the #33 car in my rear view mirror rather then in front of me.”
Nissan will now need a driver to fill its fourth seat for 2016, with Dale Wood rumoured to be in the frame for the drive.
