South Africa’s Supreme Court of Appeal has ruled that Oscar Pistorius’ conviction will be changed to murder.
The Paralympic champion killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in February 2013 after shooting her four times through a locked door in his house.
He was found guilty of culpable homicide and was handed a five-year sentence in October 2014 but is currently under house arrest having spent just a year in jail.
However, Pistorius will now have to return to court for a new prison sentence to be decided after the appeals court overturned the original verdict.
