Since committing his future to Manchester United, De Gea has shown his manager, his teammates and the supporters just how crucial he is to the Red Devils. Once more, the Spaniard pulled off a number of fine saves to secure a clean sheet against an in-form Everton side.

It was a thrilling goal-fest of a weekend in the Premier League, with some excellent performances at both ends of the pitch.

Manchester City brushed AFC Bournemouth aside with a 5-1 victory, courtesy of a career-first hat-trick from Raheem Sterling and a brace from Wilfried Bony.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United put in an outstanding attacking display, netting a rather unbelievable six goals past a stunned Norwich City.
