Reports – Edinson Cavani ends Arsenal and Manchester United links by signing new £6m-a-year Paris Saint-Germain contract

Edinson Cavani is finally set to take up the role as main striker at PSG

Edinson Cavani has ended talk of a move to Arsenal or Manchester United by signing a big-money contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports in Italy.

It had been rumoured the striker would be off this summer after growing frustrated at being forced to play out wide.

However, the Uruguayan has now been assured that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s departure will see him play through the middle for PSG.

And, according to Sky Italia, it has persuaded Cavani to extend his contract until 2020.

The 29-year-old’s new deal is reportedly worth over £6million-a-year and contains over £1.5m of potential bonuses.
