Scotland came so close to a stunning upset against Australia in the Rugby World Cup, but agonisingly threw it away with a minute to play.

The Scots were leading 34-32 when they lost possession on their line-out throw and conceded a penalty to gift the Aussies a get out of jail card.

It was heartbreaking for Scotland after a heroic effort had put them on the brink of becoming the only Northern Hemisphere team to make the semi-finals.
