Rugby | Hurricanes put Force to the sword

Cape Town – The Hurricanes showed glimpses of their class in thrashing the Force in their Vodacom Super Rugby clash in Palmerston North on Friday.

The Hurricanes won 41-6 after leading 10-3 at half-time.

The Hurricanes scored six tries through hooker Dane Coles, fullback James Marshall, scrumhalf TJ Perenara, lock Blade Thomson, centre Ngani Laumape and Ardie Savea. Flyhalf Beauden Barrett was on target with four conversions and a penalty.

The Force replied with two penalties by flyhalf Peter Grant.

The Hurricanes picked up a full-house of five points for their victory, while the Force left empty-handed.

In next weekend’s Round 5 action, the Hurricanes host the Kings in Wellington (Friday, March 25 at 08:35), while the Force travel to Waikato to play the Chiefs (Saturday, March 26 at 08:35).
