Super League news: Catalans Dragons' Krisnan Inu facing five-match ban after being charged with dangerous throw

Catalans Dragons centre Krisnan Inu is facing a ban of up to five matches after being charged with a dangerous throw.

The former New Zealand international, who has been an ever-present for the French club since joining them from rugby union last June, was sin-binned for lifting and dropping Huddersfield prop Eorl Crabtree during his side’s 46-26 win over the Giants on Sunday.

Inu has now been charged by the Rugby Football League’s match-review panel with a grade D offence which carries a suspension of between three and five matches.

He was cleared of another dangerous throw on Huddersfield centre Joe Wardle earlier in the match.

Meanwhile, Wardle, who was sent off in the 50th minute for a high tackle on Catalans captain Remi Casty, has been charged with a grade C offence, which carries a ban of two to three matches.

Castleford forward Matt Cook is facing a grade B charge of dangerous play for his tackle on Warrington hooker Brad Dwyer during the Tigers’ 56-12 defeat on Friday while the panel ruled that Wolves substitute Stefan Ratchford’s sin-binning for a dangerous tackle on Denny Solomona was sufficient punishment.
