Tottenham reaction: Mauricio Pochettino admits Arsenal draw was 'an opportunity missed'

Harry Kane put Spurs 2-1 ahead

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was frustrated his side didn’t pick up the three points against north London rivals Arsenal after Saturday’s 2-2 draw.

Aaron Ramsey gave the Gunners the lead in the first half but goals from Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane after Francis Coquelin’s red card put the home side ahead.

However ten-man Arsenal equalised through Alexis Sanchez to deny Spurs top spot in the Premier League and Pochettino felt it was a good opportunity missed by his side.

“The feeling is not so good because we missed a big opportunity at 2-1 up,” said Pochettino.

“But we need to be happy with the effort of the players.

“We started the game 11 vs 11 and played much better but something happened and the opponents took risks to find the chance to score.

“Our team made a big effort so I feel proud and pleased for them.”
