Transfer report: Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers chasing Celtic midfielder Scott Allan

Celtic midfielder Scott Allan is a summer target for Championship trio Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers.

The 24-year-old joined the Scottish Premiership champions last summer from Hibernian after a productive one-season spell at Easter Road, where he helped Hibs finish second in the Scottish Championship.

But Celtic boss Ronny Delia has been reluctant to give the Scot a regular run in the first-team, with the former Scotland Under-21s star only starting his first league game for the Bhoys against Hamilton last month.

And the ex-West Brom player’s lack of game time has alerted clubs in the Championship, with Derby, Forest and QPR all looking to bolster their midfield options when the summer transfer window opens.

Beginning his career with Dundee United’s academy, Allan completed a move to Hawthorns in 2012 but failed to push into the senior Baggies team, spending loan spells with the likes of Portsmouth, Birmingham City and MK Dons.

A move back north of the border to Hibernian then revived the midfielder’s career and, despite links with a move to Old Firm rivals Rangers, the former Scotland Under-21s star joined Celtic for £250,000 last August.
