Vandy's Stallings in mix for Pitt job, sources say

Vanderbilt men’s basketball coach Kevin Stallings is in the mix for the Pittsburgh job, multiple sources told ESPN.

Former Vanderbilt athletic director Todd Turner, who hired Stallings, now runs a search firm called Collegiate Sports Associates that has been retained by Pittsburgh to help with the search.

Panthers athletic director Scott Barnes has already reached out to several candidates and been spurned, one source told ESPN.

Stallings, 55, has been the head coach at Vanderbilt for 17 seasons and has gone to the NCAA tournament seven times. The Commodores lost to Wichita State in the First Four this season.

Barnes came from Utah State less than a year ago and is trying to find a replacement for Jamie Dixon, who left last week to return to his alma mater, TCU.
